Retreat FAQs

This is a yoga retreat, we'll teach you to have no expectations!  😉

On this retreat, you will have time to slow down, enjoy the sunsets, taste your food, feel your body as you move, and engage in contemplative practices.  You will enjoy the warm Caribbean Sea, the tropical song birds, the exotic flowers, and the night sky.

Time to allow your mind and body to regenerate and connect with yourself and nature!

Northeastern Tobago - a recently declared UNESCO biosphere reserve. Our destination takes us off the beaten path to the most picturesque and pristine of Tobago villages. The quaint fishing village overlooks the deep blue Man O’ War bay, isolated by mountains and a narrow winding road.

Spend a week in a biosphere!

I endeavour to make this retreat affordable since yoga is not intended to be elitist. We stay in a private eco-villa in a lofty, shared accommodation with panoramic views. An onsite, local chef will prepare meals using as much from the garden as possible (sometimes even the banana leaves as plates).  We employ a driver from the village. The co-ordination, planning and execution is done by me, working with the group.  Typical, large scale retreat centres have to charge high fees for this.  Attending an EarthSplash retreat therefore saves you money while providing a much more personable experience!

Home base is a comfortable, insect-proof, wooden villa surrounded by acres of vegetation. Accommodation is shared with privacy screens available upon request. The lower level accommodates two persons - ideal for a couple. There is no ac or swimming pool but there are windows, plenty fresh air, fans, and the ocean!

Nestled into an isolated cliffside, our eco-friendly villa offers panoramic views of the entire village, the hilly rainforest, and the Caribbean Ocean.

Eco-conscious efforts involve sustainable practices (design & materials, water & energy conservation, waste reduction, etc.).

Plenty of wildlife in the garden to catch your attention, including agoutis, parrots, iguanas, peacocks, and a variety of singing birds. We are within walking distance to a handful of small shops, restaurants, freshwater springs, and Tobago's best beaches!

You connect with other like-minded souls and become an integral part of the group, benefitting from a personal, memorable experience! Tailor your yoga practice, centre with guided meditation, and gain from individualized yoga asana instruction.

Discover your self with guided meditations, and pranayama practices.

Head to the beach, read, scuba dive, snorkel, go on a bioluminescence tour, paddleboard, kayak, bathe in a waterfall, hike through the rainforest, bird watch...

Depending on which dates you'd like to attend, I will provide information on which flights to book from YYZ-POS and from POS-TAB. The intention is for the group to travel on the same flights. This saves you extra costs and time.

Classes are for everyone, including those without experience. With a smaller group, you will have the opportunity to gain individualized/tailored yoga instruction. This week is an ideal opportunity to nourish, recharge, and heal body, mind, and spirit.

The cuisine of Trinidad and Tobago reflects its cultural diversity - creative, eclectic, and mouth-watering! A local cook will prepare delicious meals using quality, home-grown ingredients. The menu caters to vegans, vegetarians, and pescatarians.

Level of adventure/fitness- the villa is on a cliff and although the beach is a 5-10 minute walk away, the walk back up is steep in some areas.

Digital detox - savour this opportunity to reconnect with yourself and other like-minded individuals in a beautiful location.

This retreat supports and integrates with the local community, culture, and cuisine. We will connect with the laid back pace of this traditional, protected Caribbean village.
