Final Week at Ashram

I am tired! Looking forward to a break from this routine. I’ve started packing my stuff already and my books take up more space than everything I brought on this trip. There has been very little walking for the past month and haven’t done any cardio except for the sun salutations so stepping on the treadmill once I’m back will be ‘fun’.

The guy sitting on the box gave the best lecture ever. Can’t believe he is 60 years old!

Yesterday morning, we learned how to drink salt water from the nose with a cup then move the water to the mouth. Next was learning to drink from the mouth and passing the water out the nose. I know what you’re thinking! ย This skill is SO ‘useful’! Passing the salt water out the nose from the mouth was challenging but I managed to get it done before anyone else in the group! Helps to have at least something to be proud of here amongst super pretzels, barbies and robust Russians. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Tomorrow morning we eat a strip of cloth, soaked either in salt or honey. Well, not really ‘eat’ it but hold it at one end while the rest ‘cleanses’ the passageย into the stomach. Not very excited about this event but will certainly give it a shot.

This Sunday is the last day at the ashram! Then I’m off on a different adventure.

  1. Awesome pics! You are surely there in your practice, be proud ๐Ÿ™‚
My choice to skip some of the Kriyas you described.
Enjoy your time in Kerala, you will miss it. I do.
See you at home in April.

  3. Too weird Nirala, but you must feel there is a benefit from the rag cleansing or you wouldn't be doing it, right? Great poses.

  5. I don't know if there is any warranted benefits but I can at least say I gave the darn thing a shot! ๐Ÿ™‚ The poses are really challenging so ill have to do a bit of practice on my own before trying to teach (some) of them.
